Karsan expands electric fleet in Italy, 300 units to Electrify Campania’s Public Transport by Year-End

On its way to becoming a global brand in public transportation, Karsan started 2025 by winning a new tender. Karsan, which recently delivered its 250th electric vehicle in the country to Italy, has now won a new tender in the Campania region and signed a contract.  Within the scope of the contract signed by Karsan Europe with the Campania Regional Administration Regione Campania and the public transport administration ACAMIR, Karsan aims to deliver 42 units of 100% electric e-ATAK by the end of the year. Stating that they win another tender in Italy, Karsan CEO Okan Baş said, “With this delivery, our electric vehicle park in Italy will reach 300 units. In this region, which includes a big city like Naples, we have previously delivered 8 units of e-ATAK. With the new deliveries, our vehicle park in the Campania Region will reach 50 vehicles.  The Campania region is just transitioning to electric vehicles in public transport. We are very proud that they prefer Karsan e-ATAK vehicles in this process as well. We are happy to transform public transportation in 23 cities in 11 regions of Italy with our Karsan e-JEST, e-ATAK and e-ATA models.”

In this context, Karsan managed to stand out in a new tender in Italy, one of its main target markets. Marking another major milestone by delivering its 250th electric vehicle in Italy on January 8, Karsan won a new tender in the Campania region of the country, which includes the city of Naples, and signed the relevant agreement.

Karsan vehicle park in Italy will reach 300 vehicles!

Within the scope of the contract signed by Karsan Europe and signed by Karsan Europe with the Campania Regional Administration Regione Campania and the public transport administration ACAMIR will deliver a total of 42 units of 100% electric Karsan e-ATAK buses in two parts. With the delivery we plan to complete by the end of 2025, Karsan’s electric vehicle park in Italy will reach 300 units. With the deliveries we will make in two batches, we will significantly increase our influence in the Campania region. In this region, which includes a big city like Naples, we have previously delivered 8 units of e-ATAK. With the new deliveries, our vehicle park in the Campania Region will reach 50 vehicles.” Stating that the region has recently transitioned to electric vehicles in public transportation, Okan Baş said, “We are very proud that they prefer Karsan e-ATAK vehicles in this process. Our vehicles, which will provide great convenience in public transportation in the region, stand out with their environmentally friendly structure as well as their high-level travel comfort. A short time ago, we delivered 12 units of e-JEST to Florence Municipality and increased our electric vehicle park in the country to 250 units. We are happy to transform public transportation in 23 cities in 11 regions of Italy with our Karsan e-JEST, e-ATAK and e-ATA models.”

The ability to fast charge makes multiple trips possible!

Designed with passenger comfort in mind, Karsan e-ATAK makes it easier for the elderly and families with children to get on and off the vehicle with its low floor, while offering a high level of comfort to its passengers with its comfortable seats and wide seat spacing. Providing an advantage in urban use with its 8 meters in length, Karsan e-ATAK stands out with its passenger capacity of 52 people. Its 230 kW electric motor, with its maximum torque of 2500 nm, allows the vehicle to move forward without difficulty even with steep slopes under full load, while offering a range of up to 300 kilometers. The ability of the battery to be charged in 3 to 10 hours also increases the number of trips of the vehicle during the day.
