Citroën India has launched the updated ë-C3X, introducing a Battery-as-a-Service option that separates battery cost from vehicle price, allowing customers to enter the EV ecosystem with a lower upfront investment. The move is aimed at making electric mobility more accessible and flexible for a wider base of Indian customers.

Mr. Kumar Priyesh, Director Automotive Brands, Stellantis India, said, “With the all-new ë-C3X, we are taking a decisive step forward in India’s electric mobility journey. This is not just a product launch, but a meaningful move to make EV ownership more accessible and flexible through our BaaS offering. Combined with Citroën’s signature comfort, bold design and practical technology, the ë-C3X delivers a well-rounded and compelling electric mobility experience tailored for Indian customers.”

At the heart of the new ownership proposition is the BaaS option, offered through leading banks via a dual-loan finance product that reduces the upfront battery cost, enabling a lower entry price, predictable ownership costs, and greater peace of mind for buyers.

Built on Citroën’s India-focused Smart Car Platform, the ë-C3X features an SUV-inspired silhouette with LED headlamps, split LED DRLs, and a confident front grille. It rides on 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels with 170mm ground clearance and a compact 4.98-metre turning radius, supported by skid plates and protective cladding for a strong road presence. Inside, the cabin offers best-in-class space within its segment, with a 2,450mm wheelbase, 1,375mm of shoulder room, and a 315-litre boot. The car carries forward Citroën’s signature ride comfort through its Advanced Comfort Seats and segment-best suspension, while the all-electric drivetrain delivers zero noise and vibration. A tropicalised climate control system, engineered specifically for Indian summers, can bring cabin temperatures down below 14 degrees Celsius.

On the technology front, the ë-C3X gets a 10.25-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Electric Blu IP and dual-tone leatherette seats, a wireless mobile charger, and connected car technology with over 40 features including remote access. Optional extras include a JBL audio system and a front and rear dashcam package. For safety, the car is built using over 60% ultra-high-tensile and high-tensile steel, featuring a low centre of gravity from its floor-mounted battery and an advanced battery protection system designed to inspire confidence on Indian roads.
