Okinawa Autotech showcases electric scooters at launch of Ministry of Power’s ‘Go Electric’ campaign

Okinawa Autotech, one of the fastest-growing and most disruptive electric two-wheeler manufacturers in India, welcomes the launch of ‘Go Electric’ campaign by Bureau of Energy Efficiency, under the guidance of the Ministry of Power (MoP), the Government of India (GoI). The campaign which is aimed at promoting e-mobility was inaugurated by Shri R. K. Singh, Minister of State (IC) Power and New & Renewable Energy & Minister of State Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.

The launch witnessed the unveiling of the ‘Go Electric’ logo which depicts the evolution of the e-mobility ecosystem. The daylong event observed panel discussions on ‘scaling up e-mobility infrastructure in India and the role of different stakeholders in e-mobility’. The panel discussions were attended by the industry as well as policy experts as panellists from NPTC, EESL, NITI Aayog, etc.

Shri Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, while launching the nationwide campaign, highlighted a number of initiatives to encourage consumers to adopt electric vehicles. The Go Electric campaign is an important initiative that would help in reducing the import dependence of our country in the coming years and would be an important step towards a cleaner and greener future. The campaign is aimed at creating awareness at the PAN India level and is expected to boost the confidence of electric vehicle manufacturers.

Shri R.K.Singh expressed confidence that the campaign would go a long way in fulfilling the main objectives of the energy transition to move ahead on the path of a low carbon economy, thereby saving our country and the planet from the adverse impact of climate change.

On the occasion, Shri Singh also emphasized the use of clean and safe electric cooking and urged the citizens to adopt electric cooking which is safe and can benefit consumers due to low heat wastage being energy efficient.

With the vision to scale up the  e-mobility infrastructure in India, the event addressed the same through the panel discussion and witnessed the mindshare from the key dignitaries  Shri Sudhendu J. Sinha, Advisor, NITI Aayog, Shri Sandesh Kumar Sharma, Member (Planning), CEA, CMD, Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), CMD, Oil Marketing Company (IOCL), CEO, BSES Rajdhani Power, Managing Director, REIL and many other eminent industry players.

The event also brought together the government bodies and key industry players to discuss the ‘Role of Stakeholders in E-Mobility Ecosystem’ in the presence of key panelists such as ARAI, Shri Sameer Pandita, Director, BEE, DG, Society of Manufacturers of Electric Vehicles, Okinawa, etc.

Alongside the key industry players such as Omega Seiki Mobility, Okaya Power, Fortum, Hyundai, etc., Okinawa Autotech showcased its exciting range of products at the event.
