Blackbuck EV has announced the initiation of road trials for their ELON 3X, a 3-axle, 13m bus, at their facility in Hyderabad. The vehicles will undergo validation and testing ahead of certification.
“We are excited to announce the commencement of road trials for our flagship model, the ELON 3X. We plan to launch this groundbreaking electric bus to the market in 2025, manufactured at our upcoming Micro-factories in Hyderabad,” said Ramakrishnam Raju, Founder & CEO of Blackbuck EV.
Following the proving ground trials, Blackbuck EV will commence public road trials of the bus with one of India’s largest and most reputable transport operators in Q1 2025. Production is slated to begin in the same quarter.

Recognizing the need for a paradigm shift away from traditional approaches that were no longer sustainable or aligned with the unique demands of the nation, the company has undertaken extensive research and development to create an advanced modular skateboard platform. This platform ensures utmost comfort, reliability, and safety for passengers, while providing fleet operators with a cost-effective, efficient, long-lasting, and low-maintenance solution that guarantees a quick return on investment.

The company’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions extends beyond the vehicle itself, with efforts such as the use of recyclable materials and minimizing production welding.
Furthermore, Blackbuck EV has incorporated insights into the design of the ELON 3X to cater to the nuances of the Indian market, including preferences for long and night journeys, superior suspension systems to navigate diverse road conditions, noise-free cabins, and well-designed sleeper beds.
“We are eagerly anticipating the market release of our vehicles in 2025, in collaboration with leading private operators for long journeys, contributing to cleaner air worldwide. This year, we are on target to complete our first micro-factory in Hyderabad. Our innovative skateboard platform and composite body represent a new approach to manufacturing setup. This facility will be equipped with state-of-the-art, in-house technology,” added Raju.
