Simon Loos, a food logistics company in the Netherlands, is now utilizing the eActros 300 Tractor as part of its fleet. In June, the first of five electric semitrailer trucks was delivered to Simon Loos. These trucks are part of a limited series that will be progressively supplied to initial customers prior to the official start of mass production in autumn. Simon Loos has already been employing seven Mercedes-Benz eActros trucks in rigid variants since last year, catering to various customers, supermarkets, and catering businesses, particularly in the Randstad region.
The eActros 300 tractor is compatible with commonly used European semitrailers, while adhering to the maximum permitted total length of the tractor/trailer combination. This electric semitrailer tractor shares its technology with the eActros 300/400 models, which have been in series production since 2021. Equipped with three battery packs, each having an installed capacity of 112 kWh, it offers a range of up to 220 km on a single charge. The eActros 300 Tractor can be charged at a rate of up to 160 kW, enabling the three battery packs to be charged from 20 to 80 percent in just over an hour at a standard DC fast charging station with a charging current of 400 A.
