Polestar & CAKE unveil the Makka: the ultimate convenience machine

e-Mobility Events Two- & three-wheelers

The Makka Polestar edition made its debut at the IAA Mobility 2021.

CAKE, the Swedish electric motorbike manufacturer, is announcing the launch of their third platform, “Makka”, a family of light and convenient urban shuttles, for short-haul commercial transportation as well as for commuting needs; all models with category-leading performance. The new electric mopeds further define CAKEs ambition, inviting more and different users, while constantly developing means of performance, durability and relevancy in line with the company’s mission to inspire towards zero emission.

Car queues, crowded subways, occupied parking lots and poor air quality – the list of problems with mobility in cities is growing, a realization which recently has some governments reacting. From Paris’ car-ban in its city center to Barcelona’s low-emissions zones – important steps are currently being taken worldwide to ensure that cars, noise, pollution and parking hassle will be a thing of the past.

With these recent developments as backdrop, Polestar and CAKE released the new and unique electric mobility bundle that combines the all-round road capabilities of the Polestar 2 with the inner-city convenience of the CAKE Makka.

This initiative is the next step in our brand collaboration and it gives us a chance to tackle broader mobility challenges. The lightweight bike connects with Polestar 2 via an ‘umbilical cord’ that allows it to charge from our car, ready to tackle inner cities as well as have fun off-road
