When and why was Terabite E-karts founded? What challenges / problems are you trying to address with your products & solutions?
Terabite E-karts are the perfect blend of sustainability and eco-friendly e-vehicles. An initiative driven by the need of today’s environmental and health concerns, these technologies powered, electric built street food carts are set to bring a revolution to the concept of “unorganized and unhygienic” street vending.
The company was founded in 2020. More than 65% of street vendors are lacking clean infrastructure, 70% Street vendors Lack awareness on Waste Management and lesser exposure to technology. Terabyte Ekarts strongly believe tapping this potential market with technology, solutions, and compliance will certainly empower the livelihood of street vendors in a much better way.
Could you share with us about the market for application-driven EVs in India? What opportunity do you see in this space?

The market for application driven EV is highly booming nowadays all over the world. It’s becoming the trend among the auto sectors to develop cost effective electric vehicles as the world moves towards green mobility. Both government and public are also welcoming the application driven EV as a chance to help the environment by zero emission. Also, mass adoption of the EV Ecosystem is only possible if we create application-driven electric vehicles.
In India, around 41B$ of Street Food Market is completely unorganized and untapped. Technology powered, electric built street food carts are set to bring a revolution to the concept of “unorganized and unhygienic” street vending, to race towards an organized and hygienic street vending to provide a quality food at low cost.
Your thoughts on the need for measures to uplift street-food commerce in the country? How do you see EVs helping the cause?
By organizing the unorganized Street Food Market through a fleet of connected e-carts ownership, rental, B2B or B2C models by offering infrastructure, supply chain, technology, best Practices & compliances guidance in all levels of commerce helps street vendors to empower themselves in organized fashion, explore online and offline business opportunities and at the same time offer hygienic foods to their customer. The entire solution works in affordable street food e-carts, with flexible, minimum financial burden for cart owners/vendors.
What is the range of products you currently offer? What does your product pipeline look like?
At present we launched our first variant Tera Dosa E-Kart and its available for customer purchase. We are planning to launch Tera Briyani Kart, Tera Shawarma Kart, Tera BBQ Kart, Tera Chai Kart and much more. We also work on the customized kart based on the client requirement.
On the sales & service side, how equipped are you? What is your roadmap on this front?
We are creating a beautiful ecosystem in collaboration with various stakeholders to offer sales and service support once we expand across the states. We target to sell 1,000 Terabite Units in every state over the next 5 years and roadmaps are in place to accomplish the same.
From a broader perspective, why did you choose the EV field? How confident are you on being successful and where does that confidence come from?
As mentioned earlier, EV is becoming the trend for various reasons and we see electric powered vehicles are the promising technology for the future mobility. Mass adoption of EV can bring revolution in the auto sector to maintain an eco-friendly environment. We strongly believe Terabite Ekarts have already started to contribute a major part of the EV revolution. Confidence comes from the need of the EV technology in the market, we are addressing and solving the pain points of our customers.
