Verdemobility: A harbinger of E-mobility in Gujarat

Charging & Storage

Current scenario

India has embarked on an ambitious programme to decarbonise its entire transport sector by 2030. According to this ambitious electric mobility programme, India will convert 70% commercial cars,30% private cars,40% buses, and 80% of two-wheelers (2W) and threewheelers (3W) to Electric by 2030. India is a densely populated and rapidly urbanising country. But unlike the developed country, India has a unique usage pattern and automobile market consisting of 81% two-wheelers,3% three-wheelers,3% commercial vehicles, and 13% passenger vehicles. Today, 1,800 charging stations serve the charging need of 16,200 electric cars, but India needs around four lakh charging stations to charge 20 lakh electric vehicles (Evs) by 2026. To achieve this colossal task, India needs a ubiquitous charging infrastructure that aligns with the user’s daily routine and addresses each segment’s specific need (parking time, place, and mobility).

Solution

To meet E-mobility-related challenges, Verde mobility, a vertical of SLS, has developed smart EV solutions for the emerging EV market. The portfolio of Verdemobiliy consists of EV chargers, CMS(charging management software), End-user mobile app, and OCPP compliant server. Under the Atmanirbhar scheme, Verde mobility has manufactured OCPP 1.6j and ARAI compliant EV chargers such as Bharat AC-001, type 2 (single and dual gun), and hybrid AC charger covering all the segments of the EV market.

All these chargers are theft-proof and can withstand any harsh conditions. They are compatible with vehicles having an AC output range of 7. 4kW,10kW, and 22kW. While Bharat AC-001, hybrid AC, can run on 4G, Wi-Fi, and ethernet, a type 2 AC charger with a dual gun (with an output range of 3.3kW – 7.4kW) can also run on the SIGFOX network. RFID and apps can authenticate all these chargers. With a capacity of 14kW AC (1X7.4kW Type 2 AC charger 2×3.3 kW IEC 60329 output), a hybrid AC charger can simultaneously charge two, three, and four-wheeler vehicles and support(OCPP 1.6j) charging protocol. It has three phases and can be raised to 22kW for fast AC charging. A built-in energy meter can integrate
smart charging, dynamic load management, or a smart building energy system.

Charging Management Software

SLS has developed an end-to-end EV charging and energy management solution with dynamic load management capabilities. It connects OCPP compliant infrastructure with the operation center and allows real-time monitoring of chargers’ charging, maintenance, and troubleshooting. It empowers charging stations to provide users with white-label end-user
apps (ios/android).

OCPP Server

Verdemobiliy has designed an OCPP server as a backend to the EV system. It manages Charging management software and ensures reliable smart charging. It enables charging operators to build front-end systems to host and manage various applications and services such as online payment, fault management, and reservation of charging time slots for EV users. It controls the entire EV charging process, such as the authorization of EV users for
charging, remote firmware update of chargers, real-time status of charging station, fault diagnosis, and remote triggering of Charge Point initiated messages.

Verdemobiliy has developed a customer-centric End user mobile app( Android and iOS supported), enabling users to find the nearest available EV charging station during traveling, monitoring the charging session, and making an online payment for charging.

Electrify Anand 2025

To commemorate the zero-emission day on 21st September 2021, Verdemobility has launched the “Electrify Anand 2025” campaign under the auspices of Mr. Mitesh Patel, MP of Anand LokSabha constituency and dignitaries at the SLS office, GIDC Udyog Nagar. Through this campaign, SLS has created awareness regarding zero-emission day among Anand district citizens and encouraged them to shift from fossil fuel-based mobility to electric mobility. Under this campaign, SLS has showcased its E-mobility technology prowess, products, and solutions, which enable citizens to move from fossil fuel-based mobility to Emobility. On this occasion, SLS has invited all the stakeholders of the EV ecosystem from Gujarat(including dealers) to set up charging infrastructure in the Anand district. With the active support of all stakeholders of the EV ecosystem (including local government), SLS has unveiled a plan to install 500 EV chargers within five years across the Anand district. Under this plan, SLS will install 500 Electric Vehicle chargers at public places such as gas stations, malls, hotels, hospitals, marketing yards, colleges, Government offices, highways, bus stations, and railway stations. This proposed ubiquitous charging infrastructure will relieve range anxiety among users and save their time for charging. Apart from public charging infrastructure, SLS will also offer home charging solutions to private vehicle owners (two-wheelers and four-wheelers), saving their time and money.

With this campaign, Verdemonility has become a harbinger of E mobility in Gujarat.
