SWITCH Mobility Showcases International EiV12 Electric Bus at Mauritius Expo

Buses

SWITCH Mobility, a global manufacturer of electric buses and light commercial vehicles and part of the Hinduja Group, has showcased a specially configured international variant of its flagship SWITCH EiV12 at an expo organised by the Global Organization of People of Indian Origin in Mauritius, held from June 17 to 21, 2026.

The participation carries particular significance given SWITCH Mobility’s already established presence in the island nation — earlier this year, the company completed the delivery of 100 electric buses to the Government of Mauritius, the largest-ever electric bus export from India, most of which have already been deployed by the National Transport Corporation.

The vehicle on display — the EiV12 in its international avatar, operated by Triolet Bus Service — is a purpose-engineered, next-generation electric bus designed for passenger comfort, operational efficiency, and reliability in demanding climatic conditions. The 12-metre fully electric intracity bus features an ergonomically optimised 48-seat configuration and is built on a modular platform with an aerodynamic profile suited for both intracity and intercity operations, with a range of up to 300 km depending on the battery option selected.

Powering the EiV12 is a Permanent Magnet Synchronous AC Motor with a peak output of 235 kW, supported by advanced LFP battery chemistry specifically formulated for tropical conditions. The bus supports DC Fast Charging via the CCS-2 interface with dual-gun fast charging capability, enabling minimal turnaround time between trips — a critical operational advantage for fleet operators. Floor-mounted batteries lower the vehicle’s centre of gravity for superior stability, while front and rear air suspension ensures a smooth ride even on challenging road surfaces.

At the heart of the EiV12’s intelligence is SWITCH iON, the company’s proprietary connected technology platform, enabling real-time remote diagnostics, vehicle health monitoring, predictive maintenance, and fleet performance optimisation. A Fire Detection and Suppression System further reinforces SWITCH’s commitment to passenger safety, complemented by large window glass areas, a lower seating entry height, and a passenger-centric interior design.

The Mauritius Expo provides SWITCH Mobility an opportunity to deepen its engagement with Mauritian stakeholders and demonstrate the next chapter of its international product evolution, as the company continues to advance India’s position as a hub for clean, connected electric mobility.
