As India prepares for an exponential rise in electric vehicle (EV) sales, GoMechanic is positioning itself as a key player in the EV servicing space. The company is set to launch EV-specific workshops across major cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, and Hyderabad, as part of its strategic expansion to cater to the rapidly growing demand for electric mobility.

The announcement follows Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari’s recent projection that annual EV sales in India will reach the 1 crore mark by 2030, creating a market opportunity worth INR 20 Lakh Crore. This surge, coupled with government incentives such as the upcoming third phase of the Faster Adoption & Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles (FAME) scheme, aligns with GoMechanic’s vision of expanding its network of EV service centers to meet the evolving needs of both individual owners and fleet operators.

GoMechanic plans to open 100 EV specific workshops across key metropolitan areas by March 2025, aiming to double the number of workshops by the Financial Year 2026. “These workshops will be equipped with cutting-edge technology, including real-time diagnostics, battery health monitoring, and AI-powered predictive maintenance, ensuring the highest level of service for EV owners,” said Muskan Kakkar.

With India poised to become a global hub for automotive manufacturing, GoMechanic is integrating advanced technology into its operations, including telematics and IoT-based diagnostics, which will allow for predictive maintenance and real-time monitoring of EV health. These innovations help reduce downtime and ensure optimal vehicle performance, critical for both fleet operators and individual owners.

In alignment with India’s push for greener and cleaner mobility solutions, GoMechanic has already started servicing leading EV players in India, including BluSmart, MoEVing, Zypp Electric, and Evera, to offer comprehensive servicing solutions for their 3 and 4 wheelers. These partnerships are set to expand as the homegrown EV market develops into a multi-crore opportunity, supported by initiatives such as the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme, which will boost domestic battery cell manufacturing.

GoMechanic’s EV servicing initiative contributes to the larger sustainability goals by extending the lifespan of EV components, minimizing waste, and supporting India’s transition to emission-free mobility. By maintaining a large number of EVs, GoMechanic aims to reduce energy consumption and emissions in the transportation sector.

Himanshu Arora, co-founder of GoMechanic, envisions the company as a key player in the EV ecosystem over the next five years, accomplishing the target of servicing 10,000 EVs by March 2025. “Our goal is to not only expand our service network but also to become a trusted partner for fleet operators and individual EV owners alike, offering cost-effective and efficient solutions tailored specifically for electric vehicles,” added Mr Himanshu arora

As India moves towards becoming the world’s largest automotive manufacturing hub, GoMechanic is poised to lead the EV servicing market by providing world-class solutions and supporting the country’s vision for sustainable, green mobility.
