KPIT is now member of CharIN e.V association

KPIT Technologies announced its membership in CharIN e.V., an association of automotive and industrial companies that thrives to advance the adoption of electric vehicles through the development and implementation of the Combined Charging System (CCS),a standardized charging platform for all electric vehicles.

Membership in CharIN e.V. is a continuation of the vision and investments, KPIT is putting towards reimagining electric mobility. KPIT plans to be an active member of CharIN E.V. by contributing to the ecosystems’ efforts in standardizing and adopting CCS as a global standard.

“To increase adoption of electric vehicles, it is important to define and collaborate for a worldwide standard for charging systems. I believe we can leverage our technology experience and knowhow and contribute in this direction” Anup Sable, Chief Technology Officer, KPIT.

For over 12 years, KPIT has experience in Hybrid and Electric Powertrain technologies and is working with more than 20 OEMs and Tier 1s in the passenger and commercial vehicle segments. KPIT provides a complete suite of platforms, tools, accelerators and engineering services for vehicle electrification (across xEVs). KPIT has ready to adopt accelerators for xEV components such as Battery Management System (BMS), Vehicle to Grid (V2G) Inverter, DC-DC convertor which enables OEMs/Tier1s to reduce cost and time to market. KPIT has electric vehicle development experience to help build next generation electric/hybrid vehicles.

CharIN e.V. aims to continuously advance the CCS and establish this system as the leading standard for charging battery-powered electric vehicles. CCS combines the advantages of existing charging systems into one single solution that can handle any charging scenario. Members at CharIN e.V. get interoperability information direct from the source, participate in support of international CCS system standards, build more innovative products and contribute in defining requirements for the charging standards of the future.
