Following installing a series of charging stations in Punjab and Rajasthan recently, Statiq, India’s largest EV charging network, launched a charging station in Dehradun, the capital city of Uttarakhand. Importantly, this charging station has been set up in partnership with Unison Centrio Mall at their premises.

The EV charging station is equipped with one fast DC charger with a 60 KW capacity enabling to charge e-car within 40 mins upto 80% SOC, four pillar-based 11 kW each and five compact circle-based slow AC chargers. This combination of slow and fast chargers can be used for all types of electric two, three, and four-wheelers available in the Indian market, catering to all EV owners’ charging needs in the city and beyond. Being one of the most popular holiday destinations in the country, the installation of this charging station is expected to be a massive boost for EV mobility in this quiet residential city.

“For many years, Dehradun and the neighbouring hill stations have been known not only for their picturesque landscapes and scenic locales but also for their pristine air and the quality of life. However, In recent years, Dehradun has also been reported to be one of the country’s most polluted cities and Indian govt. has been pushing for green and sustainable mobility. To support the vision of an Indian Govt., the installation of this charging station and the consequent impetus to using EVs as against petrol and diesel-based ICE vehicles would undoubtedly help combat air pollution levels in the city and the neighbourhood”, expressed Raghav Arora, Co- founder and CTO, Statiq.

“As a Cultural Centre reinventing fun, food & fashion, Centrio has won many hearts among Dehradun’s locals and visiting tourists alike. Be it friends & family or classmates & colleagues, Centrio has something for everyone, which now extends to the community of EV users as well. This collaboration with Statiq aims to provide easy access to EV charging facilities for not only Centrio visitors, but any EV owners & drivers passing through the centre of the city,” said Noel Vessaoker, Centre Director, Head Business Development & Customer Service Associate, Unison Centrio Mall.

Statiq offers commercially viable Franchise Business Model to its franchisees for setting up and operating an EV Charging Station for e-vehicles to meet their daily charging requirements. With the new launches of EVs in India, this will be an opportunity to the investor to be a part of this new age EV Charging business and get a first mover advantage.

Company has over 7,000 public semi-public and captive chargers in the country that includes more than 1,000 charging stations with DC fast-charging technology and are located in strategic locations such as malls, highways, airports, residential & commercial complexes, hotels, and office complexes, among others. According to the company, its EV charging initiatives align with the Rajasthan Electronics and Instruments Limited (REIL), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., GMR, and others, which aims to develop EV charging infrastructure using the latest technology platform along with easy access to charging points for electric vehicles.
