True to the announcement of its intent just two months ago, Ultraviolette has smashed the ‘Fastest Quarter mile for an Indian motorcycle’ record (FMSCI certified) at The Valley Run, held at Aamby Valley on 1st December. The Ultraviolette F99 clocked an astonishing time of 10.712 seconds to better the previous record set in 2022. This is the first of two records that Ultraviolette intends to set in the next few weeks – with an attempt at the ‘Highest Top Speed for an Indian Motorcycle’ also in the offing.
Narayan Subramaniam, Co-founder and CEO of Ultraviolette, added, “This is a huge moment of pride for India and Ultraviolette. Historically, we have always looked to the East or the West for the best performance vehicles. At Ultraviolette we are on a mission to change that narrative with the talent and knowledge within India. The record breaking run with the F99 – which has made it ‘The Fastest Indian’ motorcycle, is undisputed validation of the engineering and design prowess in India”.
Niraj Rajmohan, Co-founder and CTO of Ultraviolette, added: “This record attempt is our answer to the ceiling the industry seems to have imposed on itself. Building technology for a peak-performance motorcycle like the F99 is a formidable challenge—it demands precision, innovation, and an unrelenting pursuit of perfection across aerodynamics, structural engineering, battery technology and vehicle electronics. We have been working tirelessly on the F99 Project for the past few months and we hope this sparks further waves of innovation across tech start-ups in India”.
Researched and Engineered from the ground up, the F99 is a testament to Ultraviolette’s uncompromising approach towards developing future ready cutting-edge technology. Built on a new-generation electric powertrain, chassis and battery pack wholly researched in India, the F99 hosts a number of industry-leading technology – such as a full Carbon Fibre exoskeleton, Carbon-Fibre Battery Pack, 400V Battery Architecture and a liquid cooled drive train. Accelerating to 100 kph from standstill in under 3 seconds and 200 kmph in under 10 seconds. The F99 as India’s first superbike has set the benchmark for performance motorcycling in the country.
The Ultraviolette F99 is the harbinger of a tech-led future for performance motorcycling. Technology developed on the F99 has been carried into the F77 Mach 2 available at UV Space Stations across India today. The breakthroughs in Regenerative Braking, Fast Charging among other technology of the F77 MACH 2, have all stemmed from the intensive R&D effort carried out on the F99 platform.
