Olectra Partners Dassault Systèmes To Build Digital-First EV Engineering Ecosystem

Buses Digitalization Partnerships

Olectra Greentech Limited has announced a strategic collaboration with Dassault Systèmes to adopt the company’s 3DEXPERIENCE platform, marking a major step towards creating a digitally integrated product development ecosystem for electric mobility in India.

The move is aimed at helping Olectra accelerate the development of next-generation electric buses and trucks through advanced digital engineering and virtual simulation technologies.

With the adoption of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, Olectra plans to shift towards a model-based and platform-led product development approach aligned with global automotive standards. The platform brings together design, simulation, engineering, manufacturing and lifecycle management into a single collaborative digital environment.

The company said the platform will enable real-time collaboration across teams and ecosystem partners while reducing dependence on physical prototypes through virtual simulation and validation capabilities.

Under the collaboration, Olectra expects to accelerate innovation cycles, shorten product development timelines and strengthen scalability for future mobility platforms.

Mr. Mahesh Babu said the company sees electrification and digital engineering as the foundation of future mobility. He noted that Olectra is making significant investments in developing new electric bus and truck platforms and believes the collaboration with Dassault Systèmes will help the company build products that align with global benchmarks while improving speed, precision and engineering efficiency.

Mr. Deepak NG said the future of mobility will increasingly be engineered in the virtual world before vehicles reach the road. He added that the partnership reflects a broader industry transition towards integrated and platform-driven innovation for faster and smarter EV development.

The collaboration also reflects a wider shift within the automotive industry from traditional component-level engineering towards system-level digital orchestration, where virtual twin technologies and digital platforms play a central role in vehicle development.

As global mobility companies increasingly adopt digital engineering ecosystems to manage complexity and support software-defined vehicle architectures, the partnership is expected to strengthen Olectra’s engineering capabilities while supporting India’s fast-growing electric mobility ecosystem.
