Fresh Bus, India’s leading electric intercity bus brand, is expanding into the long-haul segment with the launch of its Bengaluru–Hyderabad route, bringing an all-electric, premium travel experience to one of South India’s busiest intercity corridors.

Covering more than 600 km, the Bengaluru–Hyderabad route marks Fresh Bus’s first long-haul intercity service and is a significant step in the company’s plans to build a scalable electric intercity network across South of India. The route will feature ultra-fast charging halts, enabling efficient charging during the long-distance journey. Fresh Bus will be the first intercity electric bus operator to deploy this ultra-fast charging technology on this route and in India, supporting smoother and more efficient long-haul EV operations. The mid-haul will also provide passengers with an opportunity to rest and refresh during the journey. This corridor connects two of India’s most dynamic cities, home to technology, aerospace, education, and a booming startup culture, making it one of the country’s most vibrant travel corridors, powered by business, education, leisure, and friends & family journeys.
Fresh Bus will operate premium AC all-sleeper electric buses on the Bengaluru–Hyderabad route. At full deployment, the service is expected to cater to approximately 18,000 passengers every month. The company is targeting an initial occupancy of around 80%, with occupancy expected to reach approximately 90% at maturity. This is in line with the demand levels seen across Fresh Bus’s established corridors, which consistently operate at mid-to-high 80% occupancy.
Mr. Sudhakar Chirra, Founder & CEO, Fresh Bus, said: “Bengaluru and Hyderabad have a strong and consistent passenger base, making this an ideal corridor for Fresh Bus to take the next step in electric intercity mobility. Moving beyond shorter routes into a 600-km-plus corridor allows us to demonstrate that electric buses can deliver a dependable long-distance travel experience without compromising on comfort and safety. With this launch, our objective is to create a strong operating model for long-haul EV travel that can be scaled to other high-demand corridors across the country.”
The Bengaluru–Hyderabad service will be operated with Fresh Bus’s 13.5-metre all-sleeper AC electric buses, featuring 36 spacious sleeper berths. Designed for long-distance travel, the coaches will offer ergonomic AC sleeper berths with clean and sanitised bedsheets, pillows and blankets, along with reading lights, charging points, a complimentary snack box and a water bottle. The buses are equipped with key safety features including fire extinguishers, speed-governed operations, emergency exits and hammers, CCTV cameras throughout the vehicle, and alcohol checks of the captains.
The launch comes at a time when intercity bus travel is increasingly evolving from a price-led category to one where comfort, safety, punctuality and overall travel experience are becoming important considerations. The company also sees sustainability becoming a stronger consideration in intercity travel, particularly among younger and corporate travellers. With an all-electric fleet, Fresh Bus aims to combine lower-noise, cleaner, and safer mobility with a premium onboard experience and predictable travel.
The Bengaluru–Hyderabad route will therefore serve as a key milestone in Fresh Bus’s broader ambition to build a safe and comfortable, premium electric intercity network, while establishing a scalable model for long-haul electric travel in India.
With 13 routes currently operational and having served 25.6 lakh passengers across its operations, Fresh Bus is now looking to build on this experience and expand its electric intercity presence. The company also plans to introduce more routes connecting Bengaluru and Hyderabad, further strengthening connectivity between the two cities. Tickets for the Bengaluru–Hyderabad service will be available for booking through the Fresh Bus app and website and all the leading OTAs.
