Ather Energy has introduced the 450X Overtones Series, a refreshed version of its flagship electric scooter that pairs a new visual treatment with a raft of software upgrades and a faster charger. The 450X retains its signature aerodynamic silhouette but now comes in three tone-on-tone colourways — Still White, Space Grey, and Lunar Grey — with a modern play of textures that accentuates the scooter’s form without altering its core design language.
The launch builds on a series of performance and feature improvements Ather has made to the 450 lineup over time. The scooter already carries features such as AutoHold, Magic Twist, and Multi Mode Traction Control, all of which have improved the everyday riding experience. Earlier this year, Ather also introduced Infinite Cruise on the 450X and 450 Apex, enabling effortless high-speed cruising on open roads, better stability on bad roads at low speeds, and smoother gradability on hilly terrain. The feature was also made backwards compatible for 450X and 450 Apex models launched from January 2025.
The bigger update comes through Atherstack 7, the latest version of its proprietary software platform, which was unveiled at the Ather Community Day in 2025 and is now being rolled out more broadly. The platform introduces Voice on Ather, allowing riders to navigate, find charging stations, and control vehicle functions such as display brightness using voice commands. It works alongside the Halo, Ather’s smart helmet, which connects the rider’s phone, scooter dashboard, and helmet for premium audio without the need for earphones.
Atherstack 7 also brings three new safety features. CrashAlert detects accidents and immediately sends a text message to the rider’s emergency contacts. ParkSafe warns riders through the Ather app before they park in zones that are prone to towing or theft. LockSafe allows riders to completely immobilise the scooter’s motor remotely through the app, providing an additional layer of security in open parking areas.
Rounding out the update is a new 900W charger that cuts charging times for the 450 by nearly 30%, making daily top-ups noticeably faster and more convenient for riders.
